What is fluid pressure? Think of a way to measure pressure.

Solution and answer

Fluid pressure is the force exerted by a fluid (liquid or gas) per unit area. It arises due to the motion and interactions of fluid molecules and acts in all directions at a given point in the fluid. The pressure at a given depth in a fluid is given by the equation.

P= 𝑃0 + 𝜌𝑔ℎ

A way to measure pressure is using a Manometer, which is an U-shaped tube filled with liquid (e.g Water or Mercury). One side is open to the atmosphere, and the other side is connected to the system whose pressure is being measured.
